UH Hilo men’s basketball team earns academic award, three student-athletes with honors
The Vulcan team achieved a combined 3.3 grade point average for the 2022–23 school year while three individual players finished the school year with a cumulative 3.2 or higher GPA.

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s basketball team has received a 2022–23 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award for outstanding achievement in the classroom; three student-athletes on the team earned a spot on the NABC Honors Court.
The Vulcan men’s basketball team achieved an overall combined 3.3 grade point average for the 2022–23 school year. The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes men’s basketball programs that completed the 2022–23 academic year with a team 3.0 GPA or higher.



Individual Vulcans Nadjrick Peat (Business Administration), Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones (Kinesiology and Exercise Sciences), and Drew Yezbak (Business Administration) earned a place on the NABC Honors Court, recognizing students who finished the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Last month, nine Vulcans were named to the Academic All-PacWest Team for finishing with at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
