Administration
The University of Hawaiʻi System Basic Needs Master Plan, which will guide programming across the UH System, is available online. A webinar addressing basic needs insecurity of students is scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Registration is required.
Kristen Vierthaler is the new director of development for Hawaiʻi Island. Originally from Anchorage, AK, she has had ties to Hawaiʻi since she was young and for the past one-and-a-half years has called Hawaiʻi Island home. She most recently served as the director of development for the Alaska Dance Theatre where she developed and implemented fundraising and donor stewardship strategies and leveraged community relations opportunities. She also taught at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, as an adjunct professor. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a theater minor, at University of Alaska, Anchorage.

UH suspends COVID-19 vaccination and testing requirements.
COVID-19 Booster and Testing On-Campus Clinic (Shortened Hours)
- The COVID-19 booster is available for employees and all students this Friday, April 1, noon to 2:00 p.m., University Classroom Building, room 127. Email uhhcovid@hawaii.edu with your request. Bring valid state identification, medical insurance card, and vaccination card to verify previous doses.
External Testing Option for Employees and Students
- Clinical Labs statewide. PCR testing. Registration required. Walk-ins not accepted.
