Campus Center Dining Room Wednesdays and fridaysCampus Center Dining Room is offering Family Dinners for UH Hilo faculty, staff, and students on Wednesdays and Fridays through the month of September. Teapresso, Anuenue’s, and Thai Smile will not be returning to campus this fall as initially anticipated.

UCB 101 Computer Lab will be open Sundays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., beginning Sept. 13. Saturday lab hours will be added in October.

Vulcan Athletics

Kapena Lum is the new president of the Vulcan Booster Club. President Lum’s message to Vulcan athletes: “We look forward to a return to competition and encourage you to use the extra time you have been afforded to focus on your studies and individual athletic improvement.”

Faculty and staff are invited to an online forum with UH Hilo leadership on Wednesday, Sept. 9, from noon to 1:00 p.m., via Zoom. Hosting the discussion and ready for live Q & A are Chancellor Bonnie Irwin, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Farrah-Marie Gomes, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Kris Roney, and Interim Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs Kalei Rapoza. Huliau Series: Hoʻīnana – Activism through Art, Discussion 5: EA – “Empowered Activation” through Art, Social Media, and Community Engagement with featured artists Shar Tuiasoa (Punky Aloha) and Haley Kailiehu (Hui Mālama i ke Ala ʻŪlili), Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., via Zoom. Registration required.

UH Hilo, in partnership with Safeway, will be offering flu shots Thursday, Sept. 10, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., University Classroom Building, room 127. Flu shots are free with medical insurance.
