Serving as ambassadors of UH Hilo, the group of students spent Jan. 15 at the State Capitol in Honolulu attending Opening Day ceremonies and meeting with members of the Hawai‘i Island delegation to discuss topical issues.

Student leaders from the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo attended the opening of the 2020 Hawai‘i State Legislature, Jan. 15. They met with several members of the Hawai‘i Island delegation including Sen. Lorraine Inouye and Representatives Nicole Lowen, Mark Nakashima, David Tarnas, Joy San Buenaventura, and David Tarnas.
Most of these future leaders of the state of Hawai‘i are currently senators of the UH Hilo Student Association (UHHSA).
