Spring 2020 semester started on Monday at the Univeristy of Hawai‘i at Hilo. New and returning students are being welcomed back through a variety of activities on and off campus: last week, students attended Orientation sessions, and on Saturday new international students ventured out into the rain to visit some of Hilo’s landmark sites.
This week during the first three days of instruction, at an ongoing event called Vulcan ‘Ohana Week, a wide range of welcoming committees have set up fun activities and informational tables at the Campus Center Plaza.

The UH Hilo Student Association (UHHSA) hosts its first Sustainability Challenge event Jan. 13-17 with various social media photo prompts, activities, and giveaways highlighting the concept of sustainability. “Munchie Resolutions Monday” featured a bento giveaway and (above) a coloring station to decorate and write down sustainability New Year Resolutions on UHHSA’s Sustainability Banner.
