Announcement: List of food vendors and Sodexo concessions on UH Hilo campus for fall 2019 semester

The new and returning food service concessions at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo this fall semester will serve a variety of food concepts to the campus community.

Pop-Up for Hunger Concession

Teapresso Bar (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 10am – 2pm): Serving a rotating beverage menu of organic boba tea and lemonade at the Library Lanai, to include Teapresso’s signature milk tea, honeydew milk tea, taro milk tea, strawberry lilikoi lemonade, fruity lychee lemonade, and blue hawaiian lemonade, with large boba, lychee jelly and strawberry bursting boba add-ons. A portion of Teapresso’s proceeds supports UH Hilo’s Hale Paʻi ʻAi food pantry program.

Sodexo Concessions (meal plan flex points accepted)

Campus Center Dining Room (Monday – Thursday from 7am – 5pm; Friday from 7am – 3pm): Serving breakfast all day, made to order deli sandwiches and salads, grilled items, bentos, and hot entrees daily. Students are encouraged to hang out at the Campus Center Dining Room and enjoy upgraded WiFi service, comfy cozy lounge furniture, window bar counters, and café style seating. Outside food is welcome, and a microwave oven is available to heat up food.

Deja Brew (Monday – Thursday from 7:30am – 7pm; Friday from 7:30am – 2pm): The renovated Deja Brew has a refreshed rustic appearance and a new grab and go comfort food menu, serving nachos, hot dogs, manapua, chicken katsu and korean chicken sushi; and the return of Deja Brew favorites, chili, spam musubi, breakfast bento, panini, sandwiches, salads, and fresh baked desserts. The Deja Brew baristas will continue to serve Starbucks inspired coffee, smoothie and tea concoctions.

Starbucks On-The-Go (open during library hours): A new Starbucks self-serve specialty coffee kiosk was installed over the summer, serving hot and iced espresso, latte, mocha, americano, cappuccino, chocolate, tazo chai latte, freshly brewed blond, medium, and dark roast coffee. The Starbucks self-serve kiosk is located in the new Hawaiʻi Island inspired biophilic library lounge, another gathering area for students to hang out with friends, study or relax while enjoying a Starbucks beverage.

Food Trucks

Anuenue’s Kitchen (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10am – 2pm): Serving a variety of local favorite plate lunches, sandwiches, specialty hamburgers and fries with dipping sauces, wonton, and poke bowls on Tuesday and Thursday; and serving Hawaiian food (laulau and kalua pig and cabbage plates served with lomi salmon and haupia) on Wednesday at the Campus Center Covered Plaza.

Thai Smile (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 10am – 2pm): Serving a rotating menu of authentic Thai cuisine, to include made to order pad thai, green papaya salad, a variety of curry dishes, summer rolls, and “thai loco moco” at the Campus Center Covered Plaza. Delicious vegan and vegetarian options available.

Baliz Food Wagon (Wednesday from 11:00am – 3pm): Serving a rotating menu of authentic Filipino cuisine, to include pancit, pork adobo, pork & peas, lechon kawali, pinakbet, ginisa karabasa, blood meat, mongo beans, and pig feet lauya with bamboo shoots at the Kanakaole Hall exterior covered walkway (overlooking lower campus courtyard and College of Business and Economics solar powered picnic tables). This new food truck is located in a new food concession area near the newly created outdoor seating areas along the Library Lanai walkway installed during the summer break.
