The University of Hawai‘i at Hilo College of Agriculture Forestry and Natural Resource Management held its annual Agriculture Fair on Saturday at the UH Hilo Agricultural Farm Laboratory in Pana‘ewa. There were display tables featuring UH Hilo agricultural programs and guided tours of the farm for small groups.

“Agriculture plays an important role in our economy, environment and our daily lives and we want to share what our faculty and  students have worked on to solve agricultural-related challenges
and problems, in different areas of research and projects,” says Norman Arancon, associate professor of horticulture and event co-chair. Other co-chairs were Professor Lorna Tsutsumi and Assistant Professor Lissa Tsutsumi.

Held on a rainy day, the fair showcased the college’s different specializations through exhibits, displays, research posters, and demonstrations about ornamentals, hydroponics vegetables, farm animals, orchard cultivation, insects, beekeeping and honey products, aquaculture, aquaponics, and more.
