This year’s Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients are Ms. Lyndell Lindsey, Mayor Harry Kim, Prof. Jackie Pualani Johnson, and the late Sen. Gilbert Kahele.

The University of Hawai‘i at Hilo held its 17th Annual Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Service Awards Banquet on Feb 25. This year’s Distinguished Alumni Award recipients are Ms. Lyndell Lindsey, Mayor Harry Kim and Prof. Jackie Pualani Johnson. The Distinguished Service Award recipient is (posthumously) the late Sen. Gilbert Kahele; Sen. Kai Kahele, son of Gilbert, accepted the award. Organized by UH Hilo and the Alumni and Friends Association, this signature event included a buffet dinner, no host cocktails, auction and the opportunity to meet and network with the university community, alumni, business leaders and supporters.
