UH Hilo scores well on U.S. Dept. of Education College Scorecard
UH Hilo graduates earn the national average in salary and surpass the national average in students repaying their loans.
Graduates from the University of Hawaii at Hilo earn the national average in salary after attending the university according to the 2016 update of the College Scorecard released September 14 by the U.S. Department of Education. All ten campuses of the UH System ranked better than the national average in average net price (cost after financial aid) — the report shows UH Hilo with an average annual cost of $10,242 in comparison to the national average of $16,595.
The College Scorecard is an online tool providing data verified by the U.S. Department of Education on thousands of institutions across the nation. It allows users to compare schools in a variety of categories.
The four-year UH campuses (Mānoa, Hilo, and West Oʻahu) surpassed the national average in students repaying their loans — Hilo with an 82 percent repay rate compared to the national average of 67 percent.
