Students gathered at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, April 6, to declare Kapu Aloha for Maunakea.

Aloha ʻĀina Protectors, grounded in aloha and respect, are resolved to succeed. Organizers are appealing to everyone to approach this process with a deep sense of aloha, respect, thoughtfulness and purpose by declaring a “kapu aloha,” or a mandate for aloha in their non-violent resistance that is grounded in an aloha for people and place.
