UH Mānoa researcher works with UH Hilo pharmacy college to develop lotion for box jellyfish sting
Researcher Angel Yanagihara, a jellyfish expert, has a contract to provide it to divers with the military’s Special Forces and is willing to offer it free to the city lifeguards.
It’s box jellyfish season and researchers at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa are working with the UH Hilo College of Pharmacy to produce a concentrated lotion to help prevent and treat the painful sting.
