UH Hilo alumnus builds time machine, makes pit stop at UH Hilo

Oliver Holler, a UH Hilo alumnus, and his wife Terry Oliver, have traveled to all 50 states with the 1982 DeLorean Time Machine they built to raise awareness for Parkinson’s Disease.

A replica of the famous DeLorean Time Machine of the film, Back to the Future, made a pit stop today at the Campus Center Plaza at the Universty of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. Students, faculty and staff had their photos taken in the snazzy, lit-up vehicle.

Oliver Holler, a UH Hilo alumnus, and his wife Terry Oliver, have traveled to all 50 states with the 1982 DeLorean Time Machine they built to raise awareness for Parkinson’s Disease and to gather donations for research. Hawaiʻi is the last stop on their tour of the country.

The Oliver’s Facebook page reports UH Hilo raised $884.22 for the cause. That, along with 100% of all donations collected around the country, will go the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Photographer Daniel Nathaniel is a senior at UH Hilo majoring in linguistics on the GI Bill. Previously, he served nine years as superintendent of public affairs, 624th Regional Support Group at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Oʻahu. He currently is a photographer in the Office of the Chancellor.
