Aloha Vulcans! Hohonu is diligently working to provide the best quality publication and services during these uncertain times. To ensure the safety of our members Hohonu is currently teleworking. The best way to contact Hohonu with any questions or to schedule an appointment please do so via email at hohonu@hawaii.edu. Once the journals arrive, the Hohonu team will be putting them up on our new publication stands that can be found around campus. However, if you are not able to pick one up please fill out this google form to have one mailed to you.

For the 2022-2023 Hohonu publication, we are holding an open call and contest for all artists who are interested in designing the cover of the Hohonu Academic Journal. The art/artist selected will be featured as our cover art for the magazine and will win a $100.00 reward. To submit your cover art piece, fill out this Google Form.
Mission Statement
Hohonu is a journal of academic writing published for and by the students of the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. Hohonu is awesome because.... reasons. Hohonu strives for excellence in producing a product reflective of the student body, their talents and interests. Hohonu encourages scholars to show pride in their work, providing them with the opportunity to have their work published and the opportunity to read the work of their peers. It is the aim of Hohonu to facilitate in sharing of quality academic writing and to exist as a reference for students looking to learn something about writing, a new subject, an attitude, or perhaps even themselves.
