Media Broadcasting Fee

The Board of Media Broadcasting (BOMB) is a Chartered Student Organization (CSO) who receives a semesterly student media fee from all UH Hilo students currently taking classes. The student media fee is $24.00 per semester.

The Board of Media Broadcasting works to oversee the production of the two media organizations on campus. Each year the Board selects an General Manager who then is responsible for the operations of the University Radio Hilo (URH) which includes the UH Hilo radio Station. Students are able to access the Radio station by listening to 101.1 FM in Hilo. For more information about the station you can check out their website. - On-Air Information: University departments, programs, and student organizations are able to request on-air announcements and updates on various content relating to student life, the university and community. - Audio & Visual Usage: University departments, programs, and student organizations are able to request use of various audio and visual equipment for event and activity support.

Students are able to access VVP by checking out their youtube page. For more information you can visit their program website. - Video Production Requests: University departments, programs and student organizations are able to request of VVP to provide a video project that perpetuates the VVP mission and is used for documentation and promotional purposes in relation to University entities and can not be used for monetary gain. - Audio & Visual Equipment Usage: University departments, programs, and student organizations are able to request use of various audio and visual equipment for event and activity support. - Currently suspended due to COVID-19 - Photo Booth: University departments, programs and student organizations are able to request a photo booth which includes props, background, and camera which will be operated by a VVP member. - Currently suspended due to COVID-19

Additionally, students are able to apply to either the Board or the program to gain experience in the field.

• Board Member Positions: Students are able to apply to be a member of the Board. Positions include Executive Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Publicist. The Board acts as a governing body for the various on campus media programs. The board serves as a learning lab for students interested in administrative roles. • Program Positions: Students are able to apply to be a part of the two programs. Positions include program coordinators, music and promotions coordinators, radio personalities, general crew, Lead editing, and vlogging.
