Media Broadcasting Fee
The Board of Media Broadcasting (BOMB) is a Chartered Student Organization (CSO) who receives a semesterly student media fee from all UH Hilo students currently taking classes. The student media fee is $24.00 per semester. All UH Hilo students who've been assessed or paid the student broadcasting fee are able to participate in BOMB, URH, or VVP sponsored events and activities!

Listening to the Radio
The Board of Media Broadcasting works to oversee the production of the two media organizations on campus. Each year the Board selects an General Manager who then is responsible for the operations of the University Radio Hilo (URH) which includes the UH Hilo radio Station. Students are able to access the Radio station by listening to 101.1 FM in Hilo. For more information about the station you can check out their website. - On-Air Information: University departments, programs, and student organizations are able to request on-air announcements and updates on various content relating to student life, the university and community. - Audio & Visual Usage: University departments, programs, and student organizations are able to request use of various audio and visual equipment for event and activity support.
Attending Events & Activities
BOMB and its programs provide events and activities that center on their various missions and the overall promotion of the organizations. If you would like to attend you can find out more information about our upcoming opportunities on our homepage.
Additionally, students are able to apply to either the Board or the program to gain experience in the field.
- Board of Media Broadcasting Member Positions: Students are able to apply to be a member of the Board. Positions include Executive Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Publicist. The Board acts as a governing body for the various on campus media programs. The board serves as a learning lab for students interested in administrative roles. - University Radio Hilo Member Positions: Students are able to apply to be a part of Univeristy Radio Hilo team by visiting the URH website. Positions include General Manager, Program Coordinator, Music and Promotions Coordinator and Radio Personalities.
