Reducing Energy

Tuesday, January 26, 2016, 9:03pm by

The UH Hilo Office of Sustainability is involved in a number of initiatives having to do with reduction of energy waste (“SmartSockets”, which provide detailed color-coded live energy use data, and building sub-meters. Production of liquid fuels (plant oil and biodiesel conversion), distributed electricity generation, diverting waste to compost and recycling, e-waste, educational outreach, and agricultural sustainability.
