UH Hilo Happenings (March 15-21, 2020)

UH Hilo Happenings (March 15-21, 2020)

Aloha Students,

Itʻs Spring Break and we hope you’ll enjoy your time and stay healthy. We want to remind you of the main points from the last message sent by UH System President David Lassner on Thursday, March 12. We strongly encourage you to check your UH email regularly throughout break for updates.

The 10-campus UH system will move to online delivery of courses beginning Monday, March 23. In-person courses are scheduled to resume Monday, April 13.

Online Courses
  • You will be receiving directions on accessing online instruction in the coming week.
  • UH is committed to completing the academic semester and enabling students to graduate on schedule, regardless of instructional modality.
On-Campus Services

The following services will remain open:

  • Student housing (if residential students have nowhere to go)
  • Libraries (open, regular hours)
  • Dining
  • Student Recreation Centers

All university employees, including students and graduate assistants, are expected to continue to come to work. They will continue their duties as normal and will be paid accordingly.

  • All UH Hilo sporting events have been suspended indefinitely.
  • Large public events with more than 100 individuals in a confined space that are sponsored by UH are being postponed or canceled as of Monday, March 16. There is still no decision about commencement.

Take care and be well.
