Aloha Students,

In the week ahead, we welcome February. This Wednesday is the last day to drop a class without a “W” grade and also the last day to withdraw from all classes and receive 50% tuition refund. For more information about dropping classes without a “W” grade, visit hilo.hawaii.edu/registrar/makechanges.php If you receive financial aid, stop by and visit with a financial aid counselor in SSC E-101 before making any changes to your registration.

Even though the priority deadline for submitting the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) has passed, it’s not too late to submit your application! Visit with the Financial Aid Office in SSC E-101 for help or start your application at studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa

Today is the last day to withdraw from courses without W grade. Courses need to be dropped online at STAR GPS. Any refund will be issued from the Cashier’s Office. How to Write Effective Scholarship Applications

UH Hilo and Hawai’i Community College students applying for scholarships are invited to attend a workshop designed to identify how you can improve personal statements that often accompany these applications. Facilitators are members of the American Association of University Women, Hilo Branch who regularly review scholarship applications. Seating is limited to 25 and RSVP is not required. Relay for Life: Team Captain Meeting

Calling all UH Hilo Relay for Life Team Captains!
It is time to start planning for this year’s annual Relay for Life event on campus! Colleges Against Cancer will be hosting Team Captain meetings every week to help team captains plan for the event. Anyone who is interested in Relay for Life is welcome to attend. Relay for Life is an overnight fundraiser in which all proceeds go towards funding the American Cancer Society.
