Early on a rainy Saturday morning, we woke up, packed our last minute things and headed out the door, hoping that we had all that we needed. One thing is for sure, we have our warm clothes to face the cold weather that is waiting for us in Japan. We were allowed only one check-in luggage not to exceed 44 lbs, as we will also be taking a domestic flight while in Japan and we do not want to have an overweight bag for our in-country flights.
We are now at the Hilo airport, checked in and waiting for our plane! Some of us are practicing our hula and some of us taking the time to talk story. We all decided to wear our College t-shirt to identify our group when traveling together. It is safe to say that we are all filled with anticipation for what comes next, and it is evident in the energy of the room. Here are some pictures of us checking in and waiting.
