As a resident of Puna, I appreciated the introspection that Ryan brought to his discussion about Ola’a. He melded the importance of our myths with the realities of life today. I loved that he expressed the value of being purposeful and respectful when entering the forest. Thank you to Ryan, Lei and Drew for another thought provoking episode.

As a resident of Puna myself, I completely agree. Stay tuned for the next episode to be released on the 15th!

Mahalo nui e Leolani, the three of us are also Puna residents and having Ryan come on the show and share his manaʻo was truly a pleasure. We learn so much from our guests and Ryan certainly has a gift when it comes unfolding the many layers of myth and then relating it to present day. Mahalo nui for listening and sharing your manaʻo.

Thank you Ryan, Lei and Drew! Very profound information about Puna! We became residents in the uplands of Puna due to a specific set of circumstances, despite desiring to live in another area. However, I am grateful my children were able to grow up surrounded by the rainforest. When we are away from home, we often long to return to the cooler elevation and comfort of the forest.

I love all the episodes! Thank you so much! I listen to this one many times while walking through the forest!
Mahalo nui!
