Fall 2013 New Faculty Orientation

New faculty to the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo recently participated in orientation activities hosted by the Hanakahi Council, Kīpuka Native Hawaiian Student Support Center, Native Hawaiian administrators, faculty, staff and students. The ho‘okama‘āina (orientation) welcomed new faculty to the university and larger Hilo community with a traditional welcome ceremony and an experiential tour of local sites to introduce the newcomers to the natural environments, history and culture of Hilo. Other orientation events were hosted by Chancellor Straney and several of UH Hilo’s directors, deans, vice chancellors, and other staff. (See schedule for details.)
