Two papers were evaluated by a two-person Assessment Committee. The Table below contains a breakdown of the data. Average score is 2.88, slightly below “Competent”. Weaknesses were identified in the “Line of Reasoning” and “Content” rubrics.

The following will be discussed at a future department meeting: (1) the design and implementation of laboratory courses that emphasize student writing; (2) the addition of writing assignments throughout the curriculum that focus on content and reasoning.
