In reviewing the current SLOs, the Department realizes the need to revise them in order to include oral communication as a required skill.

Students will analyze the history and culture of Japan in relation to its language.

Dec. 5 & 7, 2017 – Two faculty took part in evaluating ten (n=10) oral presentations. Students were strongest in Language (3.5), but needed more practice for Delivery (3.27).
Action Taken in Response to the Data (What will you do in response to the Findings?)
In Spring 2018 the Japanese Studies program will discuss the results of the Oral Communication assessment to create activities in the program to improve students’ oral communication skills.
