Data (measurement of the competency)
Two non-POLS/AJ faculty members evaluated students. Scores were fairly consistent between evaluators. Strongest marks were in content (3.17) and delivery (2.92). Students scored lower in language (2.83) and organization and structure (2.75).
Action Taken in Response to the Data (What will you do in response to the Findings?)
POLS/AJ Dept. will discuss the results of the oral communication assessment in Spring 2018 and look at ways in which we can enhance AJ students’ oral communication skills, focusing on all areas, but especially those where marks were the weakest (language and organization and structure).
