Writing Placement Assessment:
Required for students who have not yet taken English or ESL 100 Composition/Nonnative Speakers (3) and English and ESL 100T Composition/Non-nativeTutorial (3) at UH Hilo. Also required for any non-Native English speakers. Students who have taken the SAT will be placed using the SAT EBRW score. those taking the ACT will be placed using the ACT English score. Students who score a 4 or 5 on the AP Language and Composition or AP Literature and Composition exam do not have to take the Writing Placement Assessment.
