MOP Talk on URH - KUHH 101.1FM Hosted by UH Hilo MOP students Zach Higgins (DJ Splish Splash) and Glenn Ferrier (DJ Riptide), MOP Talk is a radio show that feature's various members of the MOP community, including faculty, staff, alumni, and current students. Topics include MOP programs, student projects, and other MOP- or marine-related topics.

UH Hilo Radio is now broadcasting on KUHH 101.1 FM

MOP Talk featured two MOP students who interned with NOAA on the annual Reef Assessment Monitoring Program cruise to the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. Also featured was a segment with Matt Connelly, MOP Staff Coordinator at UH Hilo, who talked about the Sea Surveying, Training, and Response Squad (SeaSTARS), which is a new program for UH Hilo scientific divers to gain more experience with scientific surveying using SCUBA.

MOP Talk featured Jeff Kuwabara, MOP Coordinator for UH Mānoa, and Hans Van Tilburg, Maritime Heritage Coordinator of NOAA's Office of National Marine Sanctuaries. Jeff shared information about the Maritime Archaeology Surveying Techniques (MAST), a field program offered by UH. Hans spoke about the upcoming symposium on Maritime Archaeology and History of Hawaiʻi and the Pacific (MAHHP), which will be held on Ford Island in Pearl Harbor over President's Day weekend.

MOP Talk featured MOP Student Coordinator Julia Rose, who spoke about the upcoming turtle tagging field trip with UH Hilo MOP and NOAA. She also shared information on the Sea Turtle Stranding Response Team and the QUEST field program.

MOP Talk featured Dr. Steve Colbert, UH Hilo MOP's Faculty Co-Coordinator, who spoke about the recent fish die-offs in Kapoho. In a separate discussion, Dr. Colbert discussed classes that will be offered next semester for Marine Science majors, and how those classes fit into degree requirements.

MOP Talk featured Shannon Lyday from NOAA's Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary. She discussed Ocean Awareness Training and some opportunities for students. Also featured was Stephen Taylor, the MOP coordinator from Kauai Community College. He will spoke about MOP in Kauai and the upcoming MOP symposium, which will be hosted at Kauai Community College.
