  1. Math Requirements

Report: The background of Math requirement is

_It appears the reason for the wording of the Business requirement MATH 125/MATH 135/MATH 241 or higher is because in the old numbering system we had

115 as Applied Calculus

121 as Statistics

So the requirements with the old numbering system appeared as MATH 115/MATH 135/MATH 241 or higher. If worded as MATH 115 or higher, then students would be able to take Statistics to fulfill the math requirement, which probably is not what the college want. They want students to have a course in algebra, functions, and possibly some calculus. Now that Applied Calculus is 125 and Statistics is 115, it is possible to have MATH 125 or higher. _

The motion is

• Modify the Quantitative Reasoning requirement for BBA majors from "MATH 125/MATH 135/MATH 241 or higher, with "C" or better" to " MATH 125 or higher, with "C" or better."
• Modify the Prerequisite for Econ 130 and Fin 320 from "MATH 125/MATH 135/MATH 241 or higher, with "C" or better" to " MATH 125 or higher, with "C" or better"
