Lava Bee Products
From humble beginnings in 1941 as a vocational school the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo (UH Hilo) has grown to become a comprehensive university that meets the educational needs of the community. The College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resource Management (CAFNRM) is one of the colleges at UH Hilo that provides hands-on learning at the UH Hilo Farm for students interested in pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture.
The UH Hilo Farm is located in Panaʻewa, Hawaiʻi and is surrounded by lush, exotic vegetation that supports an apiary used by students to learn about bees and bee-keeping in two CAFNRM courses. The honey and wax used to make Lava Bee Products were extracted and processed from the UH Hilo Farm apiary.
