Mexican Honey Puffs

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp shortening
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp Lava Bee Honey
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Directions

  1. Sift together the dry ingredients and mix well. Add shortening and water and set aside, covered for 1 hour. Make about 20 small balls and roll the dough 1/8 inch or 1/4 inch on a lightly floured board.
  2. Cut into small triangles, or square shapes. Heat oil to 400-425 degrees.
  3. Deep fry shapes until they are brown on both sides; remove and drain.
  4. Serve with a side of Lava Bee Honey.
