UH Hilo Home > Student Health and Wellness Programs

What does SHAC do?
SHAC provides the essential link between the student body and Student Health and Wellness Programs.

The Student Health Advisory Council is an advisory board, which acts as a student voice to the SHWP staff and administration. The board is composed of UH Hilo students, wherein members participate in planning health related events for the campus community and work closely with the Director for Student Health and Wellness Programs.

SHAC aims to:

  • Represent the student body by reviewing program services and policies for SHWP and make suggestions to the Health Center.
  • Obtain student opinions on student health issues.
  • Participate in outreach activities
  • Provide suggestions for solutions to student problems or complaints
