Assistant Professor of Anthropology (82557)
Position Number 82557, University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, College of Arts and Sciences, general-funds, full-time, tenure-track, nine-month appointment, to begin August 2013, pending availability of funds.
Teach undergraduate courses including introductory cultural anthropology and upper division courses in area and topical specialties, advise students, contribute to program development, conduct research; serve on university committees; engage in scholarly activities and/or creative endeavors which contribute to the mission of the University. Perform service to the University and community.
Ph.D. in hand from an accredited college or university in anthropology, demonstrated expertise in cultural anthropology of the Pacific Islands beyond Hawaiʻi with an emphasis in Applied Anthropology, evidence of good teaching skills.
Evidence of successful college level teaching in a multicultural environment, qualitative and quantitative skills, commitment to a program of empirical research evidenced by scholarship, willingness to contribute to the development of a Heritage Management M.A., willingness to assist coordination of the Pacific Islands Studies Certificate.
