Sino-American 1+2+1 Dual Degree Program
The Sino-American 1+2+1 Dual Degree Program is a cooperative educational exchange program between Chinese and American Universities. This program was first launched in March 2001 under the joint agreement of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE), and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). The purpose of this program is to train more international professionals to meet the rapid social and economic development in China.
The students will complete their first year courses in a Chinese partner university and complete the second and third year courses in an American partner university. The students will go back to the original Chinese partner university to complete their last year courses. Upon completing all the requirements of the program, the students will be granted bachelors degrees from both the Chinese partner university and the American partner university.
The University of Hawaii at Hilo is a partner university in this joint program. We started to enroll the first cohort of the Chinese students in Fall 2009. We have the following majors offered to students in Fall 2009: Agriculture, Business Administration, Computer Science, and Political Science. Students are expected to complete at least 60 credits at UH Hilo. The exact number of credits varies by different major requirement. We welcome qualified Chinese students who are freshmen and studying in one of our partner Chinese universities to apply.
