UH accepts courses for transfer from institutions accredited by one of the six regional accrediting bodies. Courses from unaccredited institutions may not be accepted.

• Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA)
• New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
• North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA)
• Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
• Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
• Western Association of Colleges and Schools (WASC)

(UH Hilo is accredited by the Western Association of Colleges and Schools)
