About Maile

My favorite thing about UH Hilo is...: the warmth of the people and the feeling of community that is present.
My hobbies and interests are...: dance (all kinds), basketball, yoga, writing, reading and spending time with family and friends.
I think UH Hilo is a good school because...: I've read work published by some of the faculty at UH Hilo, and was extremely impressed. I think students benefit by having access to such high quality instructors, in a smaller, more intimate environment than I remember having experienced in my undergraduate education, where many of my classes were filled with 200 to 400 other students.
If you came to visit my office you would see...: a ton of photos of my friends and family.
I like Hilo because...: I've traveled around quite a bit, and it's still one of the most beautiful and serene places I have ever been to.
My favorite thing to do in Hilo is...: eat strawberry/mango flavored ice shave...and play games with my six year old niece.
