III. Academic Advising

Students with a declared a major will be assigned a faculty advisor in academic major and should contact the faculty directly for advising to discuss course selection and sequencing in the major. Advisors can be found on in MyUH or STAR for Students.

For clarification about General Education and graduation requirements, all students may contact the Advising Center, however students should still consult with the academic department(s).

General ("undeclared") student are assigned to an advisor in the Advising Center. Some General students are assigned to specific faculty:

  • ELI students - Pamala Collins
  • Pre-pharmacy - Tina Phifer
  • Pre-engineering - Syed (Shawon) Rahman

Incoming transfer students, please resolve all transfer issues, such as outstanding transcripts, with the Admissions Office, before the end of the first semester at UH Hilo. Registration questions may be directed to the Office of the Registrar.

1098T Tax Forms are available online

Student 1098-T – Tuition Statement Forms for calendar year 2011 are available for viewing at www.hawaii.edu/1098T by ALL students.

Microfilm transcripts being updated to our computer system

The Office of the Registrar has begun loading student microfilm transcripts into our current student information system. Doing this will allow for better advising and easier access to transcripts. If you would like to have your records uploaded, please contact our office.

Don't be alarmed If you receive an automated message regarding coursework taken prior to the 1980's...this is why!

Your hawaii.edu email is the official means of communication between the University of Hawai'i at Hilo and you. Your hawaii.edu email is easily accessed directly from MyUH or mail.hawaii.edu.

Don't want to check another email account? Forward your hawaii.edu emails to the email account of your choice.

Registration and Health Clearance

The State of Hawaii mandates that certain health requirements must be met for entry to post-secondary educational institutions and you may not register for classes until you have submitted your health clearance. Download and complete the Confidential Health History Form and submit to the Student Health Services Center. For more information call the SHS Center at (808) 974-7636.

The Office of the Registrar needs your help in locating the rightful owners of these nostalgic documents.

If you think you might not have received your official diploma and/or certificate, please contact our office at (808) 974-7322, email uhhro@hawaii.edu, or stop by the Student Services Building, room 101 with a photo i.d. and we willbe happy to assist you.
