Big Island Wrestling

Wrestling is not only a very physically demanding sport, but also one of the world’s oldest sports. It is practiced throughout the world at a wide range of age levels. There are three main styles of wrestling that are practiced today. These three styles are Folk style, Freestyle, and Greco Roman wrestling. Folk style is the style that is done at both the High School and College level, while Freestyle and Greco Roman are the two styles done at the international levels (Ex. Olympics). In wrestling two opponents attempt to gain physical control of each other and pin the opponent's shoulders to the mat. Wrestling is a sport that requires skill, quickness, strength and conditioning.

The Big Island Wrestling Club meets at the Student Life Center on Mondays and Fridays from 7:00-9:00am. Please see the IMUA Fitness Class Schedule for information on this and other classes available at the Student Life Center.
