IMUA FitnessCampus Recreation Department provides numerous opportunities for patrons to meet their fitness goals. Qualified staff and resources are available for group and personal instruction in a wide variety of classes such as Yoga, Circuit Training, Hula and Spin. Non-credit activities are also available to provide educational experiences for a wide variety of interests. The activities offered include Dance, Martial Arts, Self-Defense, and Fitness Training classes. All Imua classes are free to members.

Class Descriptions:

Fit as a Fighter - Ever wanted to improve your conditioning skills? Well, here is your chance! This class is designed for anyone wanting to get into better shape. You will be taken through a series of conditioning drills that will work on improving your stamina, strength, coordination, and agility. Note: There is no physical contact or grappling in this class.

Judo* (RISO) - Come and test your stamina, strength coordination and endurance through the art of Judo. You will learn self-discipline, self-control, and it can help to improve your self-confidence.

Jujitsu* (RISO)Danzan Ryu is one of the most comprehensive and perfected styles of martial arts in the United States.  It includes all the elements of a superior self-defense system as well as a complete system of resuscitation and healing arts. 

Spin and Abs Come and experience 40minutes of cardio workout on the spin bikes followed by 15 minutes of a variety of abdominal exercises.  This class will be sure to give you a total body workout while having fun too!

Yoga – This class integrates various yoga teaches such as Hatha, Iyengar, and Astranga yoga. It will help you to strengthen your body while also being able to calm your mind, body and spirit.

Zumba®: Fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program. You will love this exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements combined with core strengthening exercises.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga – This class is open to all levels. Come and enjoy the upbeat pace of this class. During this class students will flow through Sun Salutations, standing and sitting poses, balancing asanas, back bend stretches and much more. Modifications to asanas are offered to accommodate various abilities.
