NSP is Hosting Awesome Events!
Join us for four days of activities, fun, food, and of course Marvel Movies.
On Wednesday, November 18 at 6:00pm in the Hale `Ikena Lounge we will be hosting Superhero Identity where we will be watching the first Avengers movie and creating our own superhero masks. Following the movie we’ll be talking about personal strengths and talents and how understanding ourselves can boost self-confidence and our ability to work at our best.
On Thursday, November 19 at 6:00pm in the Hale `Ikena Lounge we will be hosting Superhero Psychology. Co-facilitated by staff from UH Hilo's Counseling Services, we will be exploring the different mental illnesses faced by each superhero and how it relates to issues students may be facing. Learn how to recognize some of the warning signs, how to help your friends, and how to keep your own mind happy and healthy!
On Friday, November 20 at 6:00pm in the Hale Kehau Lounge we will be hosting Civil War: The Debate. Choose either the side of Tony Stark (Iron Man) or Steve Rogers (Captain America) and debate against the other side. We’ll enjoy a night of debating fun, while we learn about debating techniques, critical thinking skills, and other ways to help you succeed in classroom conversations, discussions, and improving your public speaking skills.
On Saturday, November 21 at 4:00pm on UH Hilo Baseball Field we will be having a day of active games, including Capture the Flag, themed as Loki vs. the Avengers. It will be a fun day of games that you won't want to miss. After the games we will be showing Avengers 2 at 6:00pm in the Hale Kauanoe Lounge where we will be providing dinner for all of our Marvel Week participants.
