This is the UH Hilo report. News about people, events and programs at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo.

The Hawai’i Sociological Association will hold its 37th annual conference on Saturday and Sunday, February 20th and 21st in the University Classroom Building.

Approximately 70 participants are expected including local students and faculty, from neighboring islands, nationally and internationally to present papers on the conference theme Subaltern Sociology: Social Justice, Islands, and Movements. The event begins with registration and breakfast at 9:00 a.m. and the registration fee includes lunch provided by Aloha Monday.

The conference is sponsored by the University with support from the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Gender and Women Studies Program, Conference Center and the Department of Sociology.
