This is the UH Hilo report; news about people, events and programs at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo.

The UH Hilo Acting Troupe will bring to life the stories of the Dragon Slayer, The Practical Bride, The Goddess of Mercy and an assortment of skittish animals in this month’s production of The Dragon Slayer and other Timeless Tales of Wisdom. The story-telling performance is adapted from the collection of Chinese Fables written by 98-year-old Shiho Nunes, an acclaimed writer from Ka’u and Hilo, who refers to her stories as “Cautionary Tales.”

The Dragon Slayer and Other Timeless Tales of Wisdom takes center stage at the UH Hilo Performing Arts Center November 20th and 21st at 7:00 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. on November 22nd. Tickets are available at the Performing Arts Center box office, or online at artsctr@hawaii.edu, or by calling 808-932-7490.
