This is the UH Hilo report News about people, events and programs at the University of Hawai'i Hilo.

A team of UH Hilo students is headed to the National Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) competition, after finishing first in their category at the 10th annual Statewide finals held recently on O’ahu.

The Public Service Announcement Team B, led by Chapter President Lark Jason Canico, Kimberlee Statts, Vanessa Aguirre and Shane Naeole captured first place with their :30 PSA on “Concussions: Prevention, Recognition and Treatment,” and will compete in the HOSA Nationals June 24-27, 2015 in Anaheim, California. UH Hilo’s Public Service Announcement Team A placed second as did the team’s entry in the Transcultural Health category.

HOSA is a national student organization established in 1976, whose two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to enhance the delivery of quality healthcare to all people.
