This is the UH Hilo report. News about people, events and programs at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo.
The Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy has been granted continuation of full accreditation by the board of directors of the national agency that regulates pharmacy schools. The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education granted the extension until June, 2017 following a focused on-site evaluation and separate review.
ACPE had accredited the college on a provisional basis until June 2015, as it sought funding for a permanent building, which was approved by the legislature last year. The continuation is contingent on continuous progress toward construction of the facility that enables the college to comply with all standards required for accreditation. An interim report is due in mid-October, followed by a comprehensive self-study next year. The next on-site visit is scheduled for 2017, or sooner if no timely progress is made on construction of the new building.
