This is the UH Hilo report. News about people, events and programs at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2014 summer session, which begins registration on April 1. Session I runs from May 27 – June 20, while Session II will be held June 23 – August 1.

This year’s program features 173 classes, with about half being offered online. The summer curriculum focuses on high demand courses students need to meet their degree requirements, and highlights the University’s role as a living, learning laboratory with classes and programs emphasizing the island’s cultural and academic resources.

These include the highly popular QUEST program, an intensive marine science field course conducted in West Hawaiʻi. And the Akamai Internship, which combines coursework, a project in high tech, and communication building with mentoring by an engineer or scientist.
