This is the UH Hilo report. News about people, events and programs at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.

The Office of Applied Learning Experiences or ALEX will host it's first Applied Learning Summit on April 12 and 13. The two day event will bring community organizations and educators together to create and collaborate on the delivery of real-world learning experiences for students through a variety of initiatives, including internships, community based projects, mentoring and service learning.

The summit features keynote speakers from the mainland and O`ahu as well as award winning faculty from UH Hilo. Community organizations and educators interested in partnering with UH Hilo through applied learning are encouraged to register for the event at or contact the ALEX office at (808)933-9986 for more information. The registration deadline is Friday, April 5.
