This is the UH Hilo report. News about people, events and programs at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.
As part of its annual performance season, the Performing Arts Center reaches out to K-12 students in the greater Hilo area by hosting them at selected performances free of charge. This season includes the following events.
Charmaine Clamor blends soul and swing of American Jazz with traditional Filipino folk-music, languages and instruments to create a new hybrid of music called “jazzipino”. Go, Dog, Go!, the musical adaptation of PD Eastman’s classic children’s book, shares the joys of color, shape and movement in an explosion of canine shenanigans. First Person: Seeing America is a multi-media production portraying the events that shaped our nation through photographs, written words and musical accompaniment. Living Waters: Kūlanihākoʻi a hula drama draws from epic Hawaiian myths, to tell the many facets of water through the eyes of contemporary native Hawaiians.
