This is the UH Hilo report. News about people, events and programs at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.

The College of Pharmacy will present its fourth annual Health Fair on Saturday, October 6th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the UH Hilo Campus Center. Students and faculty will conduct numerous activities to promote healthy living including blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes screenings, and a "brown bag” medication check. They’ll be joined by various community organizations like the Hawaiʻi Bone Marrow Donor Registry, the Hawaiʻi Island HIV/AIDS Foundation and Akaka Falls Lions Club.

Then on Sunday October 14th, 89 students from the class of 2016 will recite the Oath of a Pharmacist at the annual White Coat Ceremony from 2-4 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. The event is a rite of passage for first year students in the professional program that affirms their commitment to professionalism, respect, integrity and caring. Both events are free and open to the public, with ample free parking.
