This is the UH Hilo report. News about people, events and programs at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. UH Hilo is hosting three artists in residence this academic year.

Carlos Villa of the San Francisco Art Institute will be here October 10-14 with his gallery exhibition “Halo-Halo: Bay Area Artists of the Philippine Diaspora” in support of East Hawaiʻi’s Filipino History celebration.

Roy Nydorf of North Carolina’s Guilford College will be at the Print Studio November 28 – December 2, and take part in the November 30 opening of the “2011 International Invitational Works of Paper Exhibition” at the Campus Center Gallery.

And Oakland, California’s Oliver Jackson will be the 2012 Howard and Yoneko Droste Visiting Research Fellow. Jackson will be at the Painting Studio January 2 - February 17 and participate in Black History Month projects.
