This is the UH Hilo report. News about people, events and programs at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.
The College of Continuing Education and Community Service is the University’s outreach arm, which operates summer session and assists in providing a growing number of courses online. The College also offers non-credit, lifelong learning classes in Hilo and at the North Hawaiʻi Education and Research Center (NHERC) in Honokaʻa. The fall schedule, now online includes courses in bread making, grant writing, various languages, gardening and much more! Meanwhile, NHERC will host a presentation by UH Hilo Anthropology Professor Peter Mills. Dr. Mills will discuss a decade of archaeological research in Humuʻula, where in 2007 a crew discovered remains believed to be from one of the first commercial ranching stations dating back to the mid 1800’s. The free presentation will be held at 7pm, September 13th at the Center.
