UH Hilo business major captures prestigious Zonta award

Kimberly Ishii, a senior in business administration at the University of Hawai`i at Hilo, has been awarded the Zonta International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship. The scholarship consists of a $4,000 cash award that may be used for the third or fourth year of study in an accredited program that will result in a business-related degree.
Ishii, one of just five women worldwide to receive the award this year, plans to attend graduate school upon completion of her studies. She qualified for the international award by earning previous scholarships in local and regional competition.
Zonta International, established in 1919, is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women. The club, which has consultive status with the United Nations, totals approximately 33,000 members in more than 1,200 chapters in 69 countries.
