The exhibition entitled “Save a Plastic Chair and Help Save the Aina,” features 19 different pieces of art which began as plastic chairs that were going to be disposed of in the Hilo landfill. The display is timed to coincide with “Earth Day,” which will be observed on April 22, 2005.
Miller’s students who created the art work will formally open the exhibit with a “procession of chairs,” led by Tracey Chesler on Monday, April 4th at 3:30 p.m. Participants supplied with kazoos and party hats will carry their chairs from the University Classroom Building to the Library Lanai, then proceed to the spaces the art work will occupy in the library.
