Deadline for Chancellor’s Scholarship extended

Applications are still being accepted for the University of Hawaii at Hilo Chancellor’s Scholarship for the 2005-2006 academic year. To be eligible for this prestigious scholarship, applicants should be Hawai`i high school seniors who are ranked in the top 10 percent of their class and have a grade point average of at least 3.5.
The deadline to apply has been extended to February 15, 2005. Applications can be downloaded from the UH Hilo Web site (www.uhh.hawaii.edu), or can be obtained by contacting the UH Hilo Admissions Office (1-800-897-HILO or 974-7414). Application packets were also sent to high school counselors throughout the state.
Up to 18 students will be selected for the scholarship, which is equivalent to the amount of tuition. Each Chancellor’s Scholar is also invited to participate in various leadership and service opportunities throughout their college careers. The value of the scholarship, by the end of four years, is approximately $10,000.
